According to School Board Policy, State Requirements for Educational Facilities and Florida Statutes, an engineer is required to be appointed for the development of plans and specifications, bidding, and construction administration for various projects throughout the School District.  The project was advertised for three consecutive weeks with The Clay County Leader.  The process for screening and selection was in full accordance with School Board policy.  See attachment for full back-up.

Appoint the top ranked firm, Mittauer & Associates, Inc. as Civil Engineer for the Development of Plans and Specifications, Bidding and Construction Administration for county-wide projects not exceeding $300,000.00 at a fee of 6% of the construction cost.

The engineering fees will be on projects not exceeding $300,000.00 per project at a recommended 6% fee rate.  Individual projects will be approved by the Board in the Educational Facilities Plan.
